KUALA LUMPUR, 29 JULY 2021 – CONGRATULATION to all the winners! Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia Berhad (VTREC) wishes all winners a hearty congratulations on winning the Colouring Contest and Short Video Challenge which ended on 8 July 2021.
The contest and challenge saw the participation from all Malaysian which were made up of any walk of life amid restriction of Covid19 pandemic. The VTREC Colouring Contest requires the participants to print and colour the provided drawing sheet. The Champion, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up will walk away with a bicycle, RM500, RM350 and RM250 Cash Voucher and certificate of participation, respectively. Cash Voucher of RM100 will be given to the fifteen consolation winners including certificate of participation each. Special consolation prizes of RM50 Cash Vouchers and certificate of participation will be given to the ten special consolation winners dedicated only for children participants.
While, the VTREC Short Video Challenge requires the participants to create a short video with duration of 30 seconds, showcasing creativities in protecting vehicle from theft. The Champion will walk away with a Laptop, RM300 Cash Voucher and certificate of participation. The 1st runner up will bring home a Tablet, RM250 Cash Voucher and certificate of participation, while 2nd runner up will win a Handphone, RM200 Cash Voucher and certificate of participation. Cash Voucher of RM100 will be given to the fifteen consolation winners including certificate of participation each. Ten special winners among children participants will receive RM50 Cash Vouchers and certificate of participation each.
Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia’s (VTREC) Co-ordinator, Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid said the Colouring Contest and Short Video Challenge were part of VTREC’s strategic initiatives in collaboration with Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) to engage the public to protect their vehicle from being stolen and to prevent them from being a victim.
“We wanted to create a greater sense of care and concern of our vehicle, to care for its safety and avoid oneself from being a victim by highlighting its significant and importance to protect vehicle including motorcycle, car and commercial vehicle, among others keep your vehicle locked at all times, never leave keys in the vehicle, never leave vehicle running and unattended, avoid leaving valuable inside the vehicle, park in well-lit area, use additional prevention lock or devices like car alarm or immobiliser and so forth.
Puan Mas Tina added, “the contest and challenge also promote exposure among the younger generation, particularly students. Despite in the face of Covid19, we saw active participation from contestants reflecting positive value, whereby the contest and challenge were undertaken remotely and on digital platforms, there has been a significant surge in participation especially the colouring contest.
The Colouring Contest and Short Video Challenge are in conjunction with PDRM-VTREC Vehicle Theft Public Awareness Campaign 2021 with the theme “Protect Your Vehicle from Theft”. VTREC and organiser thank all participants both winners and non-winners for their participation and all participants will be provided with electronic certificate of participation (e-certificate) for their time and efforts in participating.
