Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia Berhad (VTREC) together with Officers from Polis Diraja Malaysia Kelantan during Vehicle Theft Public Awareness Campaign in Kota Bharu, Kelantan
Kota Bharu, 27 August 2022 – Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC) in partnership with Polis Diraja Malaysia – Jabatan Pencegahan Jenayah dan Keselamatan Komuniti (JPJKK) Kelantan held the vehicle theft and public awareness campaign to promote responsible in protecting vehicles among vehicles owners and public.
The campaign was held in The KB Mall, Kota Bharu and was attended by more than 1,500 public from Kota Bharu and surrounding areas participating the advocacy including talk on responsibility of public to protect their vehicles. The effort is expected to be able to nurture the mentality and behaviour change to reducing crime of vehicle theft especially within their community areas. The participants also contributed to activities such as writing messages on Doodle Wall, colouring the Doodle Wall, contests and quizzes.

According to YBhg Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid, the Co-ordinator of VTREC, “We want more people to understand crime of vehicle theft and its adverse effect. PDRM-VTREC Vehicle Theft Public Awareness Campaign aims to show that vehicle theft may cause various issues with adverse impacts including their transportation, financial, mental as well as their wellbeing that are prevalent in particular society level.”
The supports and responses from public at the VTREC Vehicle Theft Public Awareness Campaign booth at The KB Mall were overwhelming, however with adherence of the Covid19 SOP among the participants.
