VTREC ENGAGED IN THE COMMUNITY DAY OF IPD PETALING JAYA AT DAMANSARA DAMAI

Petaling Jaya, 8 October 2022: Vehicle theft is an issue that affects every vehicle owner at large.   This year The Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC) has focused on the theme of vehicle safety as main priority in achieving vehicle owner wellbeing. The theme “Protect Your Vehicle from Theft” emphasises the need to protect vehicle against theft as a prerequisite for ensuring vehicle owner wellbeing and to reduce record of crime of vehicle theft nationwide.

As an advocate for doing what is necessary to improve vehicle owner wellbeing and reducing statistics of vehicle theft, VTREC has joined hands with IPD Petaling Jaya Carnival namely “Karnival Hari Polis Bersama Komuniti” which took place at Dewan Komuniti MBPJ Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya. The Carnival was officiated by YDH Tuan ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, the OCPD of Petaling Jaya, also presented were Carsome Head of Regional Policy, Mr Lee Roy Ting Kah Sing and Co-ordinator of VTREC, YBhg Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid.

Through the given platform, VTREC extends its advocacy initiatives by reaching out to the public. Various activities to attract the community and public were organised since early morning including marathon, public safety demonstration, information and tips to protect vehicle theft, vehicle theft survey, vehicle lock demonstration, police tools and engines showcase, silat self-defence demonstration, games, colouring contest, lucky draw and many more.

As one of the backbones of the 1-day booth campaign, Encik Muhammad Alif Mohd Adnan, VTREC Executive shared about VTREC of creating more awareness about Vehicle Theft while nurturing fellow participants and public through creative engagements. It was VTREC truly hope that all attendees gained something valuable through activities and games offered.

The carnival was a success with a participation of approximately 2,000 people of Damansara Damai. The event was an essential component for continuous vehicle theft deterrence education and awareness whereby through the activities conducted it can be an eye-opener for everyone who wants to learn about protecting their vehicle and at the same time to contain other form of crimes within Petaling Jaya area, particularly Damansara Damai.
