Kuching, 28 October 2023: Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC) promotes public awareness in the ongoing effort to prevent car theft via Mini Campaign activities on vehicle theft protection.

Vehicle theft awareness campaigns play a crucial role in safeguarding communities and reducing the incidence of vehicle theft because they raise awareness campaigns to educate the public about the dangers of vehicle theft, emphasizing preventive measures. Thus, by increasing awareness, people become more vigilant and take necessary precautions.

The participants in the public awareness mini-campaign contributed as well with activities including putting messages on the Doodle Wall, colouring the Doodle Wall, a colouring contest, and a wheel of fortune.

VTREC Co-ordinator YBrs Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid said, “The PDRM-VTREC Vehicle Theft Public Awareness Mini Campaign is to ensure more people understand and are aware of what crime vehicle theft is and how to protect their vehicle”. We may utilize this to educate and raise public knowledge on how to secure their vehicle by using a chain lock, locking the steering wheel, using an anti-theft protector or signal-blocking pouch for the car key fob, and parking in a well-lit place.

The support and responses from the public and police officers at the Awareness Wall were positive whereby it was filled with aspirations and positive messages and pledges against vehicle theft.
