YBhg Dato’ Ooi Win Juat on his feedback responding to questions forwarded by Puan Mas Tina and participants
In regard to public perception of vehicle theft, Puan Mas Tina highlighted that the mentality and behaviour of vehicle owners have positively changed against vehicle theft lately. People have shown that they do care about their vehicle, many have taken steps to protect their vehicles. The good behaviour somehow or rather contributed to the reduction of vehicle theft rate in Malaysia. We need to keep sending the message through various forms for them to cultivate careful mentality of vehicle theft, avoid purchasing stolen vehicle and spare parts, avoid purchasing clone vehicle and avoid selling stolen vehicles or stolen spare parts.
In another note, Dato’ Ooi Win Juat mentioned that while Hari Raya is approaching public must check the documentation against the vehicle that they wish to purchase and to seek authority advice to ensure they are protected from purchasing stolen vehicle, clone vehicle and the vehicle condition is safe to be on the road. PUSPAKOM offers special service for vehicle owners to voluntarily send their vehicle for inspection, no queue is required and the result will be produced on the same day.
YBrs Dr Wong Yau Duenn highlighting his points in responding to questions asked by Puan Mas Tina and participants
While, Dr Wong Yau Duenn pointed out in respect to road traffic accident and road safety, safe vehicle is paramount for life safety as well as good behaviour. Public need to further improve on their behaviour and perception of road traffic accident and road safety in order to bring down the rate of road accident. At the moment the perception of road traffic accident and road safety is low among Malaysian. Perception is important in shaping one’s behaviour and action when on the road. Behaviour to avoid violating the traffic rules and perception of suffering due to road traffic accident to a certain level will enable the nation to see more reduction in road traffic accident and increase road safety.
At the end of the session Puan Mas Tina presented some appreciations to YBhg Dato’ Ooi Win Juat and Dr Wong Yau Duenn.
