Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Receives Courtesy Call from Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 June 2023:  The Co-ordinator of Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC), YBrs Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid paid a courtesy call on YDH CP Dato’ Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain who was appointed as the new Kuala Lumpur Police Chief at his office, here at Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters.  Also present during the courtesy call were YDH Tuan SAC Habibi Haji Majinji, Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Kuala Lumpur, YDH Tuan ACP Nazri Haji Mansor, Timbalan Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah (Risikan/Operasi) Kuala Lumpur, YDH Tuan DSP Ahmad Nazri Mohd Adnan, Pegawai Turus D4, Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Kuala Lumpur, Puan Siti Aqilah Razali, VTREC Executive and Puan Nur Alwanie Iberahim, VTREC Executive.

 

 

The visit was meant to strengthen the understanding and information exchange on crime of vehicle theft in Kuala Lumpur and potential areas of collaboration particularly on policing and awareness programmes of vehicle theft between VTREC and Kuala Lumpur Police.

 

At the event which lasted about 45 minutes, the Kuala Lumpur Police Chief welcomes the courtesy call.  The discussion between two sides touched on enlighten of police initiatives in curbing vehicle theft syndicates.  The Kuala Lumpur Police Chief shared his insights in reducing crime of vehicle theft particularly in Kuala Lumpur and possible co-operation between VTREC and Kuala Lumpur Police. The VTREC Co-ordinator also updated the Kuala Lumpur Police Chief on vehicle theft particularly high number of Toyota Hilux and old model vehicles being stolen as well as the initiatives made by VTREC with the co-operation of stakeholders in curtailing the incident including specific administrative improvement.

 

 

Adding to the communication, among others the Kuala Lumpur Police Chief also concerns in respect to road traffic accident within Kuala Lumpur and reminding the public to care to protect their vehicle against theft, their safety and their family safety when driving.

 

The Kuala Lumpur Police Chief welcomes all parties to continue to work hand in hand and serve the common good in reducing vehicle theft and increasing public wellbeing.  At the end of the event, YBrs Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid and YDH CP Dato’ Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain exchanged of plague of appreciation.  VTREC Co-ordinator thanked the Kuala Lumpur Police Chief for his time and co-operation.
