Kuala Lumpur, 25 April 2024 – VTREC held its first ‘Majlis Sambutan Hari Raya Aidilfitri VTREC 2024’ at the Garden Terrace, Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA). This occasion aims to honour the esteemed month of Shawwal while cultivating robust partnerships between government agencies and non-government agencies. Directly, strengthen the bonding and relationship between VTREC’s stakeholders to diminish vehicle theft crimes and secure road safety for Malaysians. The ‘Majlis Sambutan Hari Raya Aidilfitri VTREC 2024’ was officiated by YBhg Datuk Lokman Jamaan, the Acting Chairman of VTREC.

In his speech, YBhg Datuk Lokman Jamaan expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for joining the inaugural Aidilfitri celebration organised by the Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC). He extends warm wishes and emphasises the importance of fostering unity, camaraderie, and forgiveness during this festive occasion. He also highlights VTREC and its stakeholders success in reducing vehicle theft by 90% since 2013 and announces its new role in reducing road traffic accidents in Malaysia. Additionally, it commemorates VTREC’s 17th anniversary and acknowledges the efforts made in collaboration with stakeholders to combat vehicle theft thus far.

The Opening Speech was delivered by YBrs Puan Mas Tina the Co-ordinator of VTREC, she extended warm wishes of Aidilfitri to the Acting Chairman of VTREC, YBhg Datuk Lokman Jamaan, VTREC Board Members, VTREC staff and all attendees. She expresses gratitude for the opportunity to gather and celebrate the inaugural Aidilfitri event with a spirit of harmony and friendliness. The message emphasises the importance of fostering unity and cooperation among various agencies and organisations especially in addressing vehicle theft and road accidents for the collective good. It concludes with congratulations and appreciation to all VTREC staff for their efforts in ensuring the success of the event. The Majlis Sambutan Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2024 proceeded with the cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate VTREC’s 17th anniversary on April 30, 2024 with a resounding success at the Aidilfitri event. Throughout the years, VTREC, in conjunction with stakeholders, has undertaken substantial efforts and initiatives to diminish vehicle theft rates, leading to a 90% decline from 2013 to 2023. The cake-cutting event was officiated by YBhg Datuk Lokman Jamaan, the Acting Chairman of VTREC accompanied by YBrs Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid, Co-ordinator of VTREC along with other stakeholders during that time.

After the cake-cutting ceremony concluded, all guests were invited to indulge in the array of dishes prepared for them. Various traditional Hari Raya delicacies such as lemang, rendang, pressed rice, and many more were available to celebrate this auspicious month.
To ensure the event ran smoothly and was well organised, The Secretariat of the event meticulously planned every detail and ensured a seamless experience for guests. The dedication and teamwork were evident. Even after guests departed, their efforts contributed significantly to the event’s success. Their hard work did not go unnoticed, knowing they had made the celebration memorable for all.

A symbol of gratitude for the unwavering support bestowed upon the occasion. It was a simple yet meaningful exchange, highlighting the bonds formed and the spirit of co-operation that infused every aspect of the event.
The Hari Raya celebration was further enlivened by live musical performances of Aidilfitri-themed songs by the Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) Music Band Combo. Not only that, there was also a photo booth for guests to take pictures and take-home film strips as keepsakes.
