Persatuan Insurance Am Malaysia (PIAM) Chairman, Mr Antony Lee and Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC) Chairman, YDH CP Dato’ Sri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin bin Mohd paid a join courtesy call on the new Inspector-General of Police, YDH IG Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohamad Fuzi bin Harun at his office in Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur on 27 February 2018. Mr Antony Lee was accompanied by Mr Chua Seck Guan, Deputy Chairman of PIAM, and Mr Mark Lim, Chief Executive Officer of PIAM. While YDH CP Dato’ Sri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin bin Mohd was accompanied by YDH SAC Dato’ Khairuldin bin Haji Saad, Ketua Penolong Pengarah D4, Encik Mohd Yusof bin Idris, Co-ordinator/Consultant of VTREC and Puan Mas Tina binti Abdul Hamid, Assistant Manager of VTREC.
PIAM and VTREC thanked the PDRM for giving the co-operation in reducing the rate of national vehicle theft. The positive result on insurance industry statistics revealed that vehicle theft recorded a significant reduction of 60% throughout the last 5 years; from 38,322 cases in 2013 reduced to 15,323 cases in 2017. During the courtesy call, the representative from both organisations took the opportunity to exchange views on current issues related to public safety and enhancement in the effort of the insurance industry in contributing to the PDRM on those issues. YDH CP Tan Sri IG expressed his focussed interest by forwarding several proposals to enhance efficiency and to work more closely together in reducing the rate of vehicle accident and enhancing road safety. PIAM and VTREC were pleased to assist PDRM in all its efforts beneficial to the rakyat with a win-win result for all parties.
