PETALING JAYA, 19 Aug 2020: The Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC) paid a visit to Petaling Jaya Police Chief (OCPD), Tuan ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal at IPD Petaling Jaya. Presented were Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid, VTREC Co-ordinator and Puan Afif Aliyana Abu Fitri, VTREC Executive and also at the meet up was Tuan ASP Mohamad Hafiza bin Mohamad Razali, Risikan Operasi Bahagian Siasatan Jenayah, Petaling Jaya.
The visit was meant to strengthen the understanding and information exchange on crime of vehicle theft in Petaling Jaya and potential areas of collaboration particularly on policing and awareness programmes of vehicle theft.
During the visit, Puan Mas Tina shared that over the last 5 years, referring to statistics of vehicle theft count, crime of vehicle theft has reduced nearly 50% whereby PDRM has played a significant role in the effort towards the rate reductions along with other stakeholders. Meanwhile, Tuan ACP Nik Ezanee welcomes the co-operation of stakeholders in reducing crime of vehicle theft and the important in engaging all stakeholders in combating the vehicle theft. He shared some knowledge facts of Petaling Jaya in term of geography districts, socio-economy, history, development of the areas, transportation and traffic flows as well as the people living there and their well-being. Also was touched was about crime of vehicle theft in Petaling Jaya area.
At the end of the meeting, Puan Mas Tina thanked Tuan ACP Nik Ezanee and Tuan ASP Mohamad Hafiza for their time and co-operation.
