KUALA LUMPUR, 22 June 2021: Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid, Co-ordinator of Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC) attended a virtual “Meet and Greet” Session with YDH DCP Dato’ Sasikala Devi Subramaniam, Deputy Director of Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) Bukit Aman with 2 other VTREC’s Management Officers.

Various issues were exchanged including forgery and falsification of documentation to commit fraud, vehicle cloning, car buying scams and frauds, car selling scams and frauds and potential area of co-operation between VTREC and CCID.
The Co-ordinator of VTREC also presented the updates of vehicle theft situation, measures in tackling the vehicle theft in the country and close co-operation between stakeholders in closing the expectation gaps within the systems to curtail vehicle theft of which resulted in reduction of vehicle theft records.
