KUALA LUMPUR, 14 December 2022 – Under the initiative of information sharing and to enlighten knowledge pertaining to vehicle registration card of a total loss declared vehicle for disposal, Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC) has steered a special virtual briefing session for general insurance companies and takaful operators today. The session was organised in the co-operation of Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia (JPJ), Insurance Services Malaysia Berhad (ISM), Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) and Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA). The co-ordinator of VTREC, Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid has took up the helm to moderate the session.

The session was held in continuance of initiative is for insurance companies and takaful operators erstwhile to dispose all registration cards (RC) and Vehicle Ownership Certificate (VOC) for total loss vehicle. The holistic approach was initiated to curtail the rebirthing of illegal vehicles on-road through reusing of declared Total Loss RC and VOC.
The session was attended by numerous of insurance companies and takaful operators such as Takaful Malaysia Am Berhad, AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad, Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad, Pacific & Orient Insurance Co. Berhad, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group (MSIG) to name a few. Tuan Zaharudin Zainuddin of JPJ preceded the briefing and attended to questionnaires issued by the participants.
At the end of the session VTREC thanked all for their time and commitment towards the initiative and active participation throughout the session.
